This is a post to test the zenpressed plugin.
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything. Life’s been a bitch. Anyhow, updates will be a bit sparse for a while, but I’ll try to update once in a while.
I’m going a a friend’s wedding this weekend. That should be nice. Also need to add some pics from the US Open that my friend pat took. Other than that, not much is going on except work. I’ll update more later. Just posting soemthing so no one thinks I’m dead.
It finally looks like they will define what a planet is. The International Astronomical Union members will vote on Aug. 24 to accept or reject the following definition of a planet:
A planet is a celestial body that (a) has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, and (b) is in orbit around a star, and is neither a star nor a satellite of a planet.
If it gets approved, we’ll have 12 planets in our solar system with 12 more that need more review before being considered a planet. I think we should leave the term “planets” just for the 8 planets we all agree on.

It looks like diamonds are no longer a girl’s best friend. According to a survey by market researcher TRU, it looks like women are more tech savy than most people thought. Almost half of them even do their own PC troubleshooting. For gifts, it looks like they would prefer tech gifts rather than jewerly.
It found that given the choice, women would opt for tech items rather than luxury items like jewellery or holidays.
The study found 77 per cent of women surveyed would prefer a new plasma television to a diamond solitaire necklace and 56 per cent would opt for a new plasma TV over a weekend in Florida.
Now if I can only convince my girlfriend to stop liking diamonds.
